About Our Food

About Thai Cuisine

Thai food is eaten with a fork and spoon. Even single dish meals, such as fried rice with pork or steamed rice topped with roasted duck, are served in bite-sized slices or small chunks obviating the need for a knife. The fork should be used to move the food to the spoon and the spoon is used to convey food to the mouth.

Ideally, eating Thai food is a communal affair involving two or more people, principally because the greater the number of diners, the greater number of dishes to share.

Generally speaking two diners order three dishes in addition to their own individual plates of rice, three diners have four dishes and so on. Diners generally choose whatever they love from the shared dishes and add it to their own rice.

Soups are enjoyed concurrently with other dishes to cleanse the palate between the different dishes. Spicy dishes are balanced by beautifully subtle dishes to create harmony. The ideal Thai meal is a harmonious blend of the spicy, the subtle, the sweet and sour and is meant to be equally satisfying to the eye, nose and palate.

Tuk-Tuk Dishes

Tuk-Tuk portions are designed for sharing. They are smaller portions for people who like to try many different dishes and share but there is also the main dishes for people who like to eat only as they order.
